The Evolution of a Brand…Ours!

Drew Hannush by Drew Hannush ()  |  4 Comments

For our 100th blog post, I thought I needed to do something special.  We’ll maybe I didn’t think too hard on it, but hey…a little is better than nothing.

So, while we tweak our logo one more time to firm up our brand with a professional image, it made me curious to see the evolution of our brand since our beginning in 2002.

So hang on for the graphic ride of your life…in 9 years, more design changes than even Pepsi could muster.

Chrysler Helping to Heal the Detroit Brand

Drew Hannush by Drew Hannush ()  |  8 Comments

Okay, this post has less to do with social marketing and more to do with the powerful statement made in what I consider to be the best Super Bowl ad shown yesterday.

The ad was produced by Chrysler and featured scenes from Detroit was well as a singing choir at the Fox Theater, the Chrysler 200 and Detroit’s apparent new ambassador, rapper Eminem.

The Mess That Is MySpace

4 Theories Why the Fade of MySpace Isn’t Causing Social Panic

Drew Hannush by Drew Hannush ()  |  7 Comments

Yesterday I was catching up on industry news and found that MySpace was laying off 500 of its 1,100 employees.

In most cases, news about a formerly successful social network meeting such a major plunge might send a shutter through the Social Media scene and might be cause for major discussion over the future of these social platforms.

Yet I hear little mention of it, if any, from my social colleagues. Why is that?

I have a few theories…

Well, it seems I’m on vacation this week…but unfortunately the brain never stops to take a rest (and there is a smartphone and a computer near me at all times…so I’m doomed!).

I caught a Yahoo! page touting the top viral sports videos of the year. It got me thinking what my favorite discoveries of the year were myself. So (with a couple thrown in from the Yahoo page), without further delay…my top 10 viral videos of 2010.

New Blekko Search Misses the Point

In a world of seemingly endless start-ups, it is very difficult for any new product or service to gain the massive amount of front-end momentum and market share it needs to grow because of the deluge of competition.

New technologies have similar problems to the ones being faced by network television.  In the old days, you had a captive audience.  For the most part, you had ABC, NBC, CBS, maybe an independent channel and PBS as your only sources for entertainment on the tube.  It was very easy for these networks to battle it out and make an impression because they owned about 20% of the entire television viewing experience.  But now, with a myriad of cable networks, they own only partial percentage points and their impact has dwindled tremendously (as well as the quality of their writing pool).

Who Owns Your Web Address? You or Your Web Designer?

Drew Hannush by Drew Hannush ()  |  Leave a comment

This is a chilling question to some.  And not knowing can be a nightmare.

Ever have a dispute with your web developer, or your just not happy with their service and you decide to leave…only to find out they own your domain name outright and you can’t do anything to get it away from them?

This is a real scenario that has happened time and time again.

So how do you find out if you own your own domain name?

Hannush #1 in Greenville Web Design Says Yahoo and Bing

Drew Hannush by Drew Hannush ()  |  Leave a comment

For a couple of years now, we have been perplexed as to handle three search engines when it comes to search results.  Google likes things that Bing and Yahoo! don’t like so its hard to win in all three (so we pretty much focused on Google).

Today two of those companies combined their results.  Yahoo! now is supplied search results from Bing and low and behold…when searching “Web Design Greenville” in both Bing and Yahoo! we finally cracked #1.  Persistence pays off (along with a helpful merger)!
