One of the least used features of Google Analytics is the Event tracker.  Are you running a cost-per-click campaign in something other than Google AdWords?  You can track that.  Are you placing banner ads on other websites?  You can track that too.  And if you’re sending out email newsletters with links to articles on your site, you can track that too!

This is extremely important marketing information and all you have to do is add a little code to the end of the link you are using.  In other words, you’ll still put in the URL as normal…http://www.hannush.com/blog but then, you’ll add some additional code to it to make it track where the link came from.  You can be very specific in labeling this information (ie. http://www.hannush.com/blog/?utm_source=hannushblog&utm_medium=blogentry&utm_campaign=sellingpeopleongoogle).  This will help you find and track this link in Google Analytics.

Look complicated?  Its not.  Use this tool (bookmark it!) to automatically build your links.
