A client today had an interesting question. With the rise of blogs, social media, and rss / atom feeds, it is much easier to present your website updates as news. And the search engines are obliging by now indexing this content faster and more efficiently.
What if you are provider of daily news updates? How do you get your site featured on Google News, Yahoo! News and Bing News where people are seeing this breaking content?

Google’s New Ecommerce Search: Not For Small Business
Always on the lookout for solutions that fit our target client size (companies of 1-500 employees), I was intrigued to read that Google was getting deeper into the eCommerce arena.

Google and Yahoo! Search Results To Change Again
Just when you thought Bing was the only (somewhat) new kid on the block to worry about. Business owners may need to brace again for another change in Google and Yahoo! rankings.
First, today Dan Rampton of Yahoo! Search announced on the Yahoo! Search Blog that a web reindexing was occurring at the #2 search engine and you should prepare to see new rankings in the next few days. In addition, a couple weeks ago Google introduced “Caffeine” a redesigned search engine that will become the new Google engine once beta testing is complete.

Why You Should Avoid Building Flash Websites
It happens occasionally. I’ll get a client who asks about getting a website developed that is high on creativity…inevitably leading to the question of using Flash for the site.
My answer is usually not as simple as just “avoid it.” I like to give advantages and disadvantages to my clients so they can make an informed decision.

7 Ways to Market With Twitter
While doing some research for a client, I decided to take a stroll through Google to see if I could find someone who could give me some good reasons why a client might want to set up a Twitter. My personal feeling is, it is only viable for a very small segment of the business website market…so I am looking for someone to change my mind. Not sure if this does, in fact, it kinda confirms the main sites that would benefit from this “hot” app.
